Meru University College of Science and
Technology started out as the Meru College of Technology (MECOTECH),
which opened its doors to the first batch of students in 1984.
In 2008 it was legally renamed the Meru University College of Science and Technology (MUCST).
It admitted its first batch of degree students in 2009 under the Joint Admissions Board.
more students were admitted under the Self Sponsored Programme (SSP) to
pursue various degree, diploma and certificate courses.
MUCST provides quality university education, training and research in science, technology and innovation in order to produce globally competitive graduates that are effective for the currently competitive job market.
from degree programmes, it continues to offer diploma and certificate
courses in line with the Government policy on higher education through
technical industrial vocational and entrepreneurial training.
Facilities at MUCST
University College of Science and Technology has a well equipped
library, a fully computer laboratory, among other facilities that
situated at Nchiru along the Meru-Maua road, approximately 15 kilometres
from Meru town.
The town campus is on the second floor of the Meru Municipal Council Town Hall.
