Kenya Institute of Management, Nairobi
The Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) and the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) collaborated to introduce an industry-oriented Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) programme in 2007 to help business executives acquire the skills needed to navigate and leverage changes as they manage any complex organization, whether it is in the private or public sector.
This program is unique and it is offered to high-level business executives who are visionary, result oriented and who have an insatiable appetite for success. It targets managers in senior positions who are looking up to greater responsibilities of being at the helm of globally competitive companies. The aim is to enhance already successful careers with the practical and research-based knowledge that comes from EMBA programme.
The program offers a platform for managers to interface theory with their practical experiences from the work place. This brings out innovative solutions that are in tandem with the changing business environment.
The EMBA learner-centred curriculum is geared towards widening your perspective as you develop the skills and strategies that bring the big picture into focus.
The programme targets Senior Managers, General Managers, CEOs/MDs and Business Leaders. This creates an environment for networking and for sharing their varied experiences/insights in managing organizations and even forge better ways of management in class.
Manageable class sizes ranging between 17 -25 students per class therefore allowing room for interaction and participation by all students
The programme attracts world class facilitators who besides academic credentials also have industry experience thus have ability to marry theory to practice. This is coupled with regular talks from resource persons from the industry to add value via sharing their experience.
The programme fee is affordable -- Kshs331, 000 for the whole year.
Exchange programme facilitites with world ranking institutions offering a similar course will be available as from 2010.
The programme runs for three trimesters of 18 units including a project research, within one academic year. This allows the busy executive to achieve professional qualifications within a short time.
